You are the CEO of a medium size solar panel firm located in California. You are concerned with the rising taxes in your state and have been negotiating with the Governor for a tax reduction because of your green status. Talks with the Governor; however, do not look promising. You are considering moving the business to New Mexico and have been in negotiations with the Governor there and it looks almost too good to be true. At this point, your employees do not know of the discussion and the possible impending move that may require employees to relocate.

Explain in a memo to your leadership team how and when you want the news to be known to the staff that a possible move is on the horizon. Be sure to explain the way the news should be broken and by whom. Make sure to discuss the timing and how you will handle the feedback you will get from the news.
