One-Question
Class ~ How does personality affect performance? How does personality impact the types of tasks people like to perform, how they communicate, the types of information they pay attention to and how they process it, and how they react to stress and change?

Hello all
I think that personality can affect a person performance in a lot of different ways. It can cause a person to work poorly on the jobs, cause bad blood with a family member or friend. People tend to have different personifies depending on what they are dealing with in their life at the time. Like if i know that some type of type would change my personality I probably would not do it. People with good personalities can take on any type of task and still keep their same attitudes, but the ones with the crazy personalities cannot do this. Most of the time this look for the bad in everything and become very disturbed.

The five personality dimensions
Hi Class,
I found the five personality dimensions to be very interesting, these are different features of personality.
- Extroversion (your level of sociability and enthusiasm)
- Agreeableness (your level of friendliness and kindness)
- Conscientiousness (your level of organization and work ethic)
- Emotional Stability (your level of calmness and tranquility)
- Openness to experience (your level of creativity and curiosity)
All five of these thing are instilled inside of all of us, the only thing that would be different is the way we use them. I would say out of all five I am Extroversion i me all the way , i do think that I am very sociable and I befriend a lot of people. I also think I am Agreeableness even though at times I think i really need to change that, because not everyone take that as a kindness they use it as a weakness.

Emotional stability
Hi Class,
According to the reading Emotional stability is not likely to experience negative emotions under pressure. the lesser the more prone to anxiety and more prone to view the world in a negative way. they also tend to preform well on the job. I can say that is very true because that is me all the way. I take things so emotionally sometimes I find myself getting upset about it. Example, I received an email about a process changing but the email only tells you what to do thats new, it don’t give any explanation on what the process is that is changing , just them instructions, this always get me emotionally roused up and im emedely getting an attitude and start speaking out of term. Now when something is explained to me I master it and help others complete their work as well.

Five-Question
Class ~ What is the business rationale for managing diversity? What are the most common barriers to implementing successful diversity programs? What are organizations doing to effectively manage diversity, and what works best?
Six-Reply/question
Thanks for sharing, Parris. You made some great points in that a manager needs to consider the diversity in the culture of the team he or she is leading. Organizations are competing globally and managing a diverse workforce where cultural differences, religious viewpoints and ethnic backgrounds; you may have customers whose business practices are very different from your own. Managers should take time out to study the cultural eccentricities of their business counterparts before attempting to make contact with people in other countries.
Class: What would you think about a situation, for example, a different culture where eye contact was a form of insult or indignation? What other cues might you use to make your assessment? Since the world is becoming a smaller place, this may be a reality you might face at any time?
