Term Assignment (35%): One major paper will be written that addresses a topic of relevance to contemporary research or theory in the field of criminal forensic psychology. You will write a critical review of the literature related to the topic and then draw conclusions based on the literature reviewed. Students should include a complete reference list in APA-style for any articles, books, book chapters, etc. cited in the text of the paper. It is expected that peer reviewed research articles will serve as primary references for the paper. Edited books and chapters are also good sources of information, but ensure you are relying primarily on original research published in peer reviewed journals. Please do not reference the course text book, other text books, or the professors lectures in your paper. Please go to original sources whenever possible instead of referencing as cited in excessively. Online blogs, crime websites, and non- academic sources are not to be used. The paper should be at least 9-10 pages long. The format of the paper should follow APA guidelines. All papers must be typed/word processed. This should include using 12pt. Times New Roman font (or equivalent) double-spaced, with 1-inch top/bottom margins, and 11?4-inch left/right margins. Students should include a complete reference list in APA-style for any articles, books, book chapters, etc. cited in the text of the paper. You do not need to include an abstract for your paper, however you DO need to include copies of the abstracts from the articles you cite. A sample of the paper format is available on the website. Below is a list of possible topics, however students are encouraged to suggest alternatives or variations. The term paper is due in class on 31 March. Past due papers will receive a 5% deduction from the final grade given to the paper for each working day past due.
