Most analyses in reservoir and production engineering applications require predicting the behavior of complex mixtures of hydrocarbons in the liquid and gas state. For such applications, the availability of a Phase Behavior Model (PBM) that can reliably perform such predictionsas a function of fluid composition, pressure and temperaturebecomes of utmost importance. This is especially true when the compositional behavior of petroleum fluids is to be modeled at its fullest. This document provides a step-by-step procedure for a modularized approach. If the modules are done in sequential order, as presented, the end-result would be a phase behavior prediction package. We deliberately use a modular approach for this project, where each module forms a stand-alone sub-project. The idea of this is to help you achieving partial goals as you move along towards completion. To keep track of your progress, you are required to submit a 1-page (max) progress report on the indicated dates (see below). Failure to submit a timely progress report automatically implies forfeiting the entire PBM project grade. All reports must be submitted electronically via ANGEL.
