Secondary Data
In regards to “Ethics”: A local nightly news reporter has found data in a study that surveyed the local children in the major metropolitan town. This study reports that a high percentage of these local children can match cartoon characters with the products they represent. An example is as follows: the children can match breakfast cereal with Captain Crunch and can match Ronald McDonald with a Big Mac. This local nightly news reporter used this information for a special nightly series regarding the need to place limits on the use of cartoon characters. This study also provided data suggesting that matching the cartoon character and the product did not lead to significantly higher consumption. Describe if you believe that this would be a proper use of secondary data and include your reasons why or why not.
